At Bespoke, we carry one main brand of skincare that is used from the back bar to retail, and it’s A Natural Difference. AND products make up almost every skincare service we offer, and the take home products top our best seller list. Why do we love this brand so much? Let’s dive in.
Usually, the first thing you notice about a product is the packaging, it gives you a signal of what the brand is like, and what the products will do for your skin. But with AND, when using the skincare, packaging is not the priority. AND products are unassuming, with minimal packaging, but the products speak for themselves when used.
As the brand name hints, all products are naturally derived and combine the best that the Earth makes with modern science. The product formulations are innovative, effective, and ideal for all kinds of skin types.
AND was founded by Christine Cowheard, who used her family’s respect and holistic usefulness of the land surrounding them to inspire her career. Cowheard was a practicing esthetician in Florida when she began formulating her own products for her skin services. The first product has morphed into a business with now over 100 naturally derived active ingredients.
Let’s look a little deeper at the practices of AND
AND is an European Union Certified company, meaning the products AND makes are created and safety tested according to the strict European Union standards. To be European Union Certified, a manufacturer must be reviewed by two separate government laboratories in Germany, where products are analyzed by two testing formats, ensuring the products are safe. Because of this testing, AND is approved to sell products internationally.
AND claims that every product is tested on humans for six months to one year before it is added to the skincare line, and that mineral oils, lanolin, artificial colors, filler, petroleum, or synthetic fragrances are never used in their products.
All of the essential oils used in AND’s cremes are organic, chirally correct (meaning it contains only the molecules with the ability to produce desired results, or its “purest form”), and have been certified by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. All of this means that the products are formulated to work with your skin cells to get the most out of your skincare products.
AND makes products to target all skin concerns, like oily, normal, rosacea, discoloration, anti-aging, acne, dry, and sensitive skin. Each skin concern is targeted through specific cleansers, cremés, masks, SPF, moisturizers, and more.
